Legislative Internship with the Office of Senator Amy Klobuchar
Description:
The United States Senate is one chamber of the federal government’s legislative branch. The Senate is comprised of two Senators from each state who represent their constituents on federal legislation including all domestic and foreign policy. Minnesota’s United States Senators are Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Al Franken (D-MN). During the summer of 2016 I interned for Senator Amy Klobuchar’s District of Columbia office. Senator Klobuchar is the first elected woman Senator from Minnesota, as well as this state’s senior Senator. The Senator understands that policy only gets passed if everyone agrees and works together, this is why the majority of the bills she sponsors are bipartisan.
