National Federation of the Blind Summer 2014 Internship
Description:
The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) is a non-profit organization of blind people, for blind people. They promote the ideals that blindness is not the characteristic that defines someone or their future. People who are blind can live the lives they want with the proper training and confidence. The NFB raises the expectations of blind people every day with affiliate chapters in every state, plus DC, and Puerto Rico.
I started this internship after my freshmen year of college. I was in a cohort of four summer interns who ranged in age, race, gender, and geographic location. During this internship we were exposed to the many different departments at the national headquarters in Baltimore Maryland.
